Hello there internet.
University life is a little different to things i'm used to.
i'd say my room is probably one of the nicest on the floor ive covered it in posters and photos.. so its wonderfully colourful. other peoples rooms still look like prison cells.
the kitchen is a differenet matter entirely. 12 people sharing. 8 neat. 4 messy. and all 12 of us get the warning when it gets intolerable. (which it already has.. we have tried to say things.. it doesnt work. hopefully the warning will work)
the people are nice.. some get annoying some of the time. theyre mostly good to live with though. (we have an irish girl, a welsh girl,a spanish guy, a chinese guy, me, and the rest are londoners)
ive had many opportunities to change myself over the past few weeks. i've become more independent.. better with money.. more confident when introducing myself, i can translate a heavy irish accent, and some other things i cant think of.
im still the same amy on the inside. i still cant bear the idea of drinking. or clubbing until 3 (believe me.. i tried it. i now have the experience to back that opinion up)
i still dont swear much (and that isnt conciously trying either)i still love the people ive moved away from.. and that isnt going to change, and of course.. i am still the biggest geek in the world: (i went to a free screening of star trek with a flatmate yesterday it made me extremely happy.)

the rude awakenings are a bit of a bother.
2 nights ago the whole floor were woken up by "WHOOOAHHH YEAHHHH!!! WHOOAAAAAAA!! WOOOO WOOOO!" at 1am. as you can imagine.. none of us had a clue what was happening. three of my flatmates had decided to get a little drunk and put £100 on a football game. thankfully they won. and they were celebrating. which is understandable when you find out what happened the next morning. at the time.. you want to go and punch them.
last night there was a fire drill. at 3.30. that meant everyone outside in their pj's and hoodies. the security guards DAWDLED! there could have been a real fire! (we think someone pullled the alarm as a joke - not a funny one!!)

the classes are good. the practicals are good. most of the people are also good. the rest of them... will probably leave in the next few weeks


one of my flatmates has already had me chasing them around the kitchen. some milk was leaking out of the fridge.. so i was on my knees cleaning it. all of a sudden.. i hear "somethings moving!!" i jumped back so far!!!! i could have absolutely killed jonathon! (although if i do that... there will be no one to protect me from the ladybird invasion... but that story is for next time)
